ONLINE ENTRIES OPEN FOR OUTSURANCE KFM GUN RUN 2016
Entries for one of Cape Town’s biggest road running events, the OUTsurance KFM Gun Run opened today Monday 11 July 2016 and participants can enter online at www.thegunrun.co.za.
The event takes place on Sunday 16 October and participants can choose to take part in the 21km half marathon, 10km run/walk or the 5km fun run/walk, aimed at families, younger participants, beginners and walkers.
“Last year the event saw a field of close to 20 000 people take to the streets of the Atlantic Seaboard in what was our most successful event to date,” said race director Tony Breslin from Atlantic Athletic Club.
Entry forms will be available at any Sportsmans Warehouse from mid-July onwards and entries will be taken in store. Entries close on Sunday 2 October at midnight. Charity Information:
The Anna Foundation has been appointed as the official beneficiary for the event for 2016 and all funds raised will go towards helping them with their cause. This non-profit organisation supports children who live on farms and in rural areas of the Western Cape. Their aim is to empower disadvantaged rural children by building self-worth and self-responsibility through their after-school education, sports and life development activities. Women from the rural communities are trained to implement their programmes.
Their mission is to instil life skills and core values in each child and facilitator with whom they work so that they can develop a positive vision for their own future, while also ensuring they make a positive future contribution to South Africa as a whole.
