November 2019 Chairman’s update
To all our fellow BAK Members,
See
you on the road,
Andre
I want to start off by thanking each and every member that
assisted at our BAKgat 10km, we could not have hosted a successful race without
you, we appreciate it more than you know! On the negative side, we were
actually still short of helpers on the day and unfortunately we still had
Bellville members that showed up wanting to run the race. Please understand
that we do not allow Bellville members to take part in our races because we
never have enough helpers at our races. We still have a helpers run (marshall
run) that is free of charge and you still get your medal, so I am again
requesting you all to make yourselves available to assist us. Keep in mind that
our next race, the Dan Luyt, is on 9 February 2020.
Our annual golf day was again a huge success! A special
mention to Pieter Carstens for again organizing the day, we really appreciate
it. Also thank you to the other members that assisted in whatever manner on the
day.
We received good interest on the Bellville Versus socks and even
though we did not get to the 300 mark, the committee has decided to go ahead
with order. If everything goes well, we will have the socks sometime in
January, unfortunately the factory is closing in December.
I also want to remind all members about the runner's
assistance fund that we have at the club. This fund is available to members who
need financial assistance with regards to RUNNING related events. Please talk to me or any committee member for more information. We
also appreciate any contributions by our members towards this fund.
Lastly, our annual awards evening is on 30 November 2019, this is
the highlight of our year so please join us in order to recognize and reward
our outstanding performers and to have a party like only Bellville can have.
Please remember to RSVP to Hanneke, details of which is in our newsletter and
on our website.
Andre
