The Hout Bay Trail Challenge is one of the oldest and toughest trail runs in South Africa. It tests you in every way, from your fitness, endurance and technique to your strength allowing you to cross the finish line.
This demanding route circumnavigates the mountains surrounding Hout Bay. The trail is divided into three legs with checkpoints at Suikerbossie Restaurant and Constantia Nek within the Table Mountain National Park. Mention should be made of the race’s final obstacle, Disa River Mouth on Hout Bay Beach. It can be waist deep if the tides are not in your favour but for most it is only an ankle-deep crossing.
